Getting more Bible versions

English (KJV) is built in. For the others, open the menu and choose Bible Versions (or More Versions in the version selector), find one with the search box and tap Download. You need an internet connection once; after that the version works offline. If a download fails, check your connection and try again. Each download is checked before it's installed, so a version is never half there.

Switching versions

Tap the version name in the bottom bar to choose another one; the reader stays on the verse you were reading. The switch button next to it steps through your recent versions. How many it remembers is under Settings → Recent Versions.

Reminders don't arrive

  • iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Holy Everyday Bible → Allow Notifications.
  • Android: allow notifications for the app, and allow Alarms & reminders (the app offers to open that screen) so reminders arrive on time rather than up to an hour late.

Moving to a new phone

On the old phone, open the menu → Backup & Sync and sign in to Google Drive, iCloud (iPhone) or OneDrive. On the new phone, install the app and sign in to the same service: your favorites, categories, reminders and reading position come across. Downloaded Bible versions aren't backed up; download them again on the new phone.

Text size, font and dark mode

Menu → Settings: appearance (System, Light or Dark), text size and a sans-serif or serif reading font, with a live preview.

Where the Bible texts come from

Every version in the app is public domain or openly licensed. Menu → Credits lists each one's copyright, license and any changes made.
